The mission behind Island Breeze Retreat was to create a quiet boutique hotel experience right in the center of Carolina Beach—within walking distance of everything you need and want while enjoying one of North Carolina’s most popular beach towns.
Outside, amid the palm trees, the Island Breeze offers guests a true island getaway vibe, with a rustic cabin-like exterior complete with a covered porch, Adirondack chairs, wooden boardwalk and a private secluded campus.
Yet, steps away is the main business district of Carolina Beach, with shops, grocery and convenience stores, fine dining restaurants, dive bars, live music and even a 50’s diner called “Pop’s”. A short walk brings you to the Carolina Beach canal and harbor, the world famous “boardwalk” and the beautiful white sand beaches of the Atlantic Ocean.
Whether your passion is surfing, kayaking, boating, fishing, turtle watching or sunbathing, it’s all here to enjoy.
Within a short drive is the bustling Cape Fear River city of Wilmington, NC, the North Carolina Aquarium and historic Ft. Fisher.
Island Breeze consists of six private bungalows, each aptly named for the whimsical nautical decor. Inside each guest room you will find all the in-room amenities you’d expect for upscale accommodations: luxuriously comfortable bed and comforter, HD Smart TV, kitchenette complete with retro-modern refrigerator and freezer, microwave oven, coffee maker and ample electrical outlets for your personal electronics. There’s a full-sized dresser, dining table and seating that doubles as a perfect place to use your laptop computer. High speed internet WIFI is included. The full-sized bath has a stone-faced shower with strong, fast hot water.
